Ingredients Needed for Making Bath Bombs

1/2 cup citric acid

1/2 cup Epsom salt

1 cup baking soda

2 tsp essential oil ( I have used bergamot, lemongrass and peppermint essential oils)

2 tsp olive oil

1 to 2 tsp water

1/2 tsp mica powder (or liquid color pigment)

1 to 2 tbsp cornflour mixture

Moon cake press molds or silicone molds

Procedure to make your bath bombs

Mix Epsom salt, citric acid, baking soda thoroughly in a bowl. Add the mica powder to the mixture(skip this if you are using liquid color pigment). Once again mix all the dry ingredients nicely. In a small cup mix all the wet ingredients except water( olive oil and essential oils and liquid color pigment). Add little water to the dry ingredients 1 to 2 tsp and mix once again. You may notice a slight fizzing noise due to the chemical reaction inside the mixture. Now add the essential oils and the olive oil to the mixture and mix once again.

To ensure that the bath bombs are ready to be placed inside the molds take a little mixture in your hands and try to hold them to see if they come together. If so the mixture is ready to be placed inside the molds. Try not to add too much water.

Assemble your moon cake press molds. Apply little cornflour mixture inside the cavities of the molds or you can make use of cling film to ensure that the mixture doesn’t stick to the molds. Now place the mixture inside the molds using a wooden spoon or a small spatula. Press them inside the cavities using the backside of the spatula or spoon. Gently release them on the tray surface.
